Anna Eames
Although she has not been swimming on the international level for long, Anna Eames has already proven that she's a very talented freestyle and butterfly swimmer and one to watch in years to come. In her first Paralympic Games, Eames competed in five swimming events and won two medals, including a gold in the 100m butterfly S10.
"I have a great support system at home and I'm just really thankful for all my coaches, family and friends," Eames said. "I can't wait to get to Beijing and let all my training help me to represent the U.S. the best I can."
Over the past few years, Eames has swam on the Hopkins High School team in Minnetonka, Minn. She was a varsity team captain, section champion, and has been named All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Eames was born with fibular hemimelia (a deficiency of the fibula), resulting in a shortened right leg with three toes and an abnormal ankle joint.
